AC 2 West
AC2 West - The Africa Cup 2 West ended in Lomé (Togo). This year, Togo, Niger, Mali, Benin, Ghana and Burkina Faso were in confrontation for a 7stournament. Indeed, every two years the Africa Cup for Western Africa alternates between a one-day 7s tournament including 6 teams the one year and a classic fifteen-a-side competition the following year.

On Friday, May 27th the teams met for a big day of rugby:
NIGER 15 - 10 TOGOMALI 12 - 3 BENINBURKINA FASO 5 - 12 TOGOGHANA 19 - 0 BENINNIGER 14 - 0 BURKINA FASOMALI 0 - 15 GHANA
Semi-finals :NIGER 0 - 26 MALIGHANA 19 - 22 TOGO
5th and 6th place :BURKINA FASO 5 - 22 BENIN
3rd and 4th place :NIGER 5 - 14 GHANA
Final :TOGO 12 - 17 MALI
Mali was crowned champion of the 2016 edition of the Africa Cup2 West. Last year, Niger had wonthe fifteen-a-side rugby tournament but now they are only ranking 4th in the seven-a-side format. Mali and Togo thus distance themselves in 7s rugby. Good news for Central and Western Africa which onlycounts on a few teams in this discipline.
