Africa Women’s Sevens: Where to Watch as 11 Teams Battle for HSBC SVNS 3 Qualification in Nairobi

NAIROBI, Kenya – Eleven national teams will compete at the 2026 Africa Women’s Sevens on 7–8 November at the RFUEA Grounds in Nairobi, Kenya, with a place in the World Rugby HSBC SVNS 3 competition and the continental title at stake.

Rugby fans across Africa and around the world will be able to follow the two-day tournament live through RugbyPass TV, Rugby Africa’s YouTube channel and Facebook page.

The competition brings together Burkina Faso, Ghana, Kenya, Madagascar, Mauritius, Rwanda, South Africa, Tunisia, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe, representing some of the continent’s leading women’s rugby programmes.

Beyond the African title, the tournament carries significant international implications. The highest-finishing team outside South Africa will secure Africa’s qualification place in the 2027 World Rugby HSBC SVNS 3 competition.

South Africa, 13-time continental champions, will compete for the African title but are not eligible for the qualification spot, having already secured their place in the HSBC SVNS 2 competition.

Hosts Kenya will be among the leading contenders, looking to make the most of home advantage as they pursue a return to the international sevens circuit. Uganda, Madagascar and other competing nations will also be targeting the qualification opportunity.

With qualification to the international sevens pathway at stake, the Africa Women’s Sevens promises two days of high-intensity competition and an important showcase for the continued growth of women’s rugby across the continent.
